Methodology

The source is the national FSO annual report on Police Crime Statistics 2025, published in 2026. Table 33 on printed page 59 (PDF page 61) separates cases, items or doses, kilograms, millilitres and plants. Only the kilogram entries for marijuana (grass, dried flowers) and cannabis resin (hashish) are used: 5,849 and 1,347. The table’s 7,196 kg figure is our addition of those two published values, not a complete total across all cannabis categories. Seeds, plants, extracts and synthetic cannabinoids are not added; plant or item counts are not converted into weight. FSO states that the police determine quantity at seizure and that it is independent of purity. No separately harmonised police-and-customs series or comparable time series from 2020 is claimed here.
