Cannabis Club Geneva

The Cannabinothèque is the Geneva pilot project run by the ChanGE association in Vernier. It is independent of CannabisClub.ch. For THC access in Geneva, first check the project’s cantonal eligibility criteria and current admission procedure.

Geneva is the canton; Vernier is the Cannabinothèque location. Registration, a waiting list and confirmed admission are three different steps.

Together, we can change the Swiss cannabis market.

Collective buying power. Strong member benefits. Indoor THC is our next goal.

Local context

ChanGE requires residence in the canton of Geneva alongside further personal criteria. A research interview checks participation. Carouge and Meyrin are in the canton; Annemasse in France is not. The project decides actual admission. Assignment of an authorised study to a canton establishes neither a sales location in this city nor residents’ eligibility. Check the project’s territory, recruitment and personal eligibility conditions with the study itself.

How it works

Your member account connects you with the community and published offers. ChanGE admission follows a separate procedure. Neither our registration nor a waiting-list place confirms an immediate right to study products.

Distinguish Geneva city from the Vernier location

The project is located in Vernier. A search for cannabis in Geneva therefore does not establish a dispensing point in Geneva city centre.

Cantonal residence matters, not simply proximity

Carouge and Meyrin belong to the canton; Annemasse and Ferney-Voltaire are in France. Living nearby or working in Geneva does not replace the required residence.

A waiting list is not admission

At the time of review, the project website displayed a waiting list. Ask about the current position: registration guarantees neither a date nor admission.

Confirmed participation comes before dispensing

ChanGE describes personal eligibility checks, followed by QR-code and official-ID checks when obtaining products. A private club card does not replace these project documents.

The dispensing point is not a consumption venue

Project rules require packaging to remain closed until you reach home and do not provide for consumption on site or in public. Follow your specific participation conditions.

The national border requires a separate check

Participation in a Geneva project does not permit carrying products into France. Schengen is not permission for cross-border cannabis transport.

Identify the product and its intended use

“Weed” is an everyday term, not a precise legal category. Establish whether the product contains less than 1% or at least 1% total THC and its intended use. An authorised trial and a medical prescription are different access routes. A member account, announcement or indicative price does not create another exemption.

Match the report to the offered batch

An analysis is useful only when you know which sample was tested. Match the batch number, product description, date, units and tested parameters to the offered goods. An attractive PDF or a general certificate for a variety does not establish that connection. Check detection and quantification limits as well: “not detected” does not mean a substance is ruled out under every circumstance. A cannabinoid report does not answer every question about contaminants. Relevant tests depend on the product and its intended use. This guide does not certify any particular batch or declare a product risk-free.

Compare costs on a consistent basis

Compare the same category, equivalent package sizes and comparable declared composition. A price per gram can help for flower; for oil, the amount of CBD in the entire bottle also matters. A cheaper bottle is not necessarily better value when volume or concentration differs. Add shipping, minimum quantities and other actual charges. A calculation based on chosen prices shows only what follows from those assumptions. It does not establish an average shop price, a current club price or savings on your order. Keep the dated product description so that you can check subsequent discrepancies against the original offer.

What to establish before obtaining a product

Before obtaining a product, identify the supplier, the product category and the legal basis for the intended access route. Check specific stock, shipping terms and batch documents. A nationwide website or a page bearing your canton’s name does not establish a local collection point. An announced event is not yet a deliverable offer. A shipping method alone does not guarantee an arrival date either. Our existing registration gives access to a member account; it does not replace these checks. For THC products, the applicable legal conditions remain independent of club membership.

Federal law and local responsibilities

The canton’s name places this guide geographically. It changes neither the federal classification based on total THC nor the requirements for the product category. Authorities and proceedings may be organised at cantonal level; claiming “there are hardly any checks here” without reliable evidence is not a sound basis for a decision. The table therefore establishes no local tolerance ranking, verified shop density or general plant allowance. For a specific official decision, the facts, deadlines and stated appeal rights matter. The FOPH register describes authorised studies, rather than unrestricted access for everyone living in a canton.

Driving, treatment and crossing borders

A Swiss product description does not settle import rules in another country or the conditions for personal carriage. Before travelling, check the destination and transit countries’ rules for the specific product, including any medical documentation required. A CBD label does not confer blanket permission to cross a border. It does not establish fitness to drive either. During treatment, use, interactions and driving require individual advice; this purchasing guide supplies no dosage or treatment promise. Storage and use depend on the actual product and its permissible instructions rather than a general cannabis slogan.

FAQ

Possession or consumption: when can a fine apply in Geneva?

Possession of up to 10 grams for personal consumption is not punishable. Actual consumption by an adult can attract a CHF 100 fixed fine. Juvenile criminal law applies to minors.

Can I drive after using cannabis in Geneva?

You must remain fit to drive throughout the journey. Neither a CBD label nor a prescription guarantees this. If you are receiving treatment, discuss its effects on driving with your treating clinician.

Which pilot trials are listed for Geneva?

The reviewed FOPH register names: La Cannabinothèque — Vernier. Listing does not establish available places. Check eligibility and recruitment with the project; club membership does not replace admission to a study.

Can I grow cannabis at home in Geneva?

Personal use alone does not authorise unlicensed cultivation of cannabis containing at least 1% total THC. For low-THC hemp, intended use and other applicable rules also matter. No cantonal plant allowance is established here.

How can I obtain cannabis medicines in Geneva?

Since 1 August 2022, medical prescribing no longer requires an exceptional FOPH authorisation. Compulsory health insurance reimburses these medicines only in exceptional cases. Check availability and costs for the specific treatment.

Is every CBD product legal in Geneva?

Less than 1% total THC is not a blanket permission to sell. Rules for the product category also apply, including food or medicines legislation. CBD content and THC content are different measurements.

Are the prices current offers?

No. No current local offers were verified for this page. Check price, quantity, composition and total costs in the specific dated offer; a calculation assumption is not a quotation.

Is delivery to my canton guaranteed?

No. Membership and a canton page confirm neither stock nor delivery. Lawful access, actual availability and the supplier’s terms are decisive.

Is the Cannabinothèque in Geneva city?

The project is located in Vernier, in the canton of Geneva. That is not a dispensing point in Geneva city centre.

Does a waiting-list place mean I have been admitted?

No. Registration, waiting and confirmed admission are separate steps. ChanGE confirms the current procedure.

Does residence in Annemasse qualify?

Annemasse is in France. The project requires residence in the canton of Geneva and checks further personal eligibility criteria.
