Hotel delivery in Switzerland: how your order reaches you

If you are in Switzerland for a few nights you have no residential address — but you do have a hotel address. This page explains step by step how hotel delivery works, how to address the parcel correctly, which delivery times are realistic, and what to do when your stay is shorter than the shipping time.

At a glance

  • We deliver to hotel addresses across Switzerland — membership is free and no proof of residency is required.
  • Orders placed Monday to Friday before 16:00 ship the same day with A-Post Priority and usually arrive the next working day.
  • Always address it as "c/o hotel name" with your name exactly as on the booking, otherwise reception may refuse the parcel.
  • Shipments are neutral: no product names, no logo, no indication of the contents.
  • For stays under two nights, poste restante pickup at a post office is the safer route.

Hotel delivery in four steps

The process is deliberately short because visitors have little time. Signing up and ordering together rarely takes more than five minutes.

  • 1. Sign up free — 18+, online, no proof of residency and no invitation code.
  • 2. Enter the hotel address — "c/o hotel name", street, postcode, town — your name exactly as on the hotel booking.
  • 3. Choose A-Post Priority — Ordered on a working day before 16:00 usually means next-working-day delivery.
  • 4. Collect at reception — Swiss Post hands the item to reception; you pick up the neutral envelope with ID.

Planning delivery times realistically

What matters is not distance but the time you order. A-Post Priority is delivered on working days, not Sundays — order on Friday evening and it typically arrives on Tuesday. For short stays, ordering before arrival is the best route: as soon as the hotel booking is confirmed, the shipment can be timed to your arrival date.

Discretion, packaging and reception

Shipments are neutral: a plain envelope or parcel with no product description, no logo and nothing that hints at the contents. To reception it is ordinary mail for a guest. Legal CBD products containing less than 1% THC are freely available in Switzerland — there is nothing to hide and no duty to disclose anything to the hotel.

Two practical notes: some properties only accept mail for registered guests, so the name must match the booking exactly; and in very large hotels it is worth mentioning at check-in that mail is expected.

  • Neutral packaging — No product or brand details on the outside of the shipment.
  • Matching name — The order name must be identical to the booking name.
  • Post office alternative — Poste restante works independently of the hotel; collect with ID.

The legal position for visitors

Products containing less than 1% THC are legal in Switzerland for adults, including foreign visitors. There is no residency requirement and no registration with any authority. Two limits matter: legal Swiss CBD must not be taken across the border, because most neighbouring countries treat cannabis flower restrictively regardless of THC content; and Swiss zero tolerance for THC behind the wheel applies to visitors too.

If you are thinking about taking leftovers home, do not. The workable approach is to match the quantity to the length of your stay.
