Cannabis in Swiss mountain and holiday resorts

No Swiss mountain village has a legal THC outlet. What does exist: lab-tested Swiss cannabis below 1% THC, delivered to your hotel, chalet or holiday flat — no Swiss residency required, membership free.

In short

  • No Swiss resort has a legal THC shop — not for residents, not for visitors.
  • Legal and available now: Swiss indoor cannabis below 1% THC, lab-tested, straight from the producer.
  • Delivery to hotels, chalets, holiday flats and apartments across Switzerland.
  • Membership is free, no Swiss residency needed, 18+ with age verification (foreign passport accepted).
  • Possession of up to 10 g of THC cannabis: normally a 100-franc fixed penalty — sharing and selling remain offences.
  • Zero tolerance behind the wheel — especially relevant on mountain roads and passes.

Why mountain villages have no cannabis shop

Resorts have small permanent populations and high retail rents. A specialist legal-cannabis store rarely pays off there, and for THC cannabis no sales licence exists at all — the approved pilot projects run only in larger cities and require residency in that municipality.

So whatever visitors are offered in bars, on terraces or on the slopes is black market: unknown potency, no lab analysis, holiday-markup pricing and a legal risk you carry alone. The legal route is unspectacular and identical across the country: order online, have it delivered to your holiday address.

The legal situation in the mountain cantons

Switzerland-wide: cannabis containing more than 1% THC is illegal. Adults aged 18+ carrying up to 10 grams for personal use normally receive a 100-franc fixed penalty with no criminal proceedings. Selling, sharing and growing remain punishable — including between friends in a chalet. Cannabis below 1% THC, which is what we deliver, does not fall under the Narcotics Act and is freely tradeable.

Delivery to hotels, chalets and holiday flats

Swiss Post reaches car-free villages and side valleys too — parcels travel up by train or feeder service and are delivered from the village. What matters is not the altitude but a correctly written address and someone to accept the parcel.

  • Give the full address — Name of the property, 'c/o your name, room/flat XY', street, postcode and town.
  • Tell reception briefly — One sentence at check-in stops the parcel from going back as undeliverable.
  • Neutral packaging — No logo, no product reference, no smell — an ordinary parcel from the outside.
  • Timing before departure — Order at least two working days before check-out, or redirect the parcel to a pick-up point.

How to order as a visitor

The process is built for travellers: no proof of residence, no Swiss social security number, no Swiss ID. Your membership stays active after you leave — next trip, order with the same account and a new delivery address.

  • 1. Sign up free + age verification — About two minutes. A valid passport or ID card is enough — foreign documents included.
  • 2. Enter your address in Resorts — Hotel, chalet, holiday flat or apartment in Resorts. All that matters is that you can receive the parcel there.
  • 3. Order from the current drops — The member area shows available batches with lab values, terpene profile and price per gram.
  • 4. Get a discreet delivery — Neutral packaging, normally the day after dispatch.

Prices: member conditions, no resort mark-up

In a resort almost everything costs more than in the lowlands — not with us. The price depends on the batch and on member conditions, not on where your hotel is. Because we produce in Sarnen and ship directly to members, the retail margin simply is not there.

Membership is free: no fee, no minimum order, no notice period. For every batch you see the certificate of analysis and the price per gram before ordering.

THC: what is possible today and what is not

For each resort we cover arrival, the layout of the village, how delivery actually works there, fine practice in the relevant canton and the altitude with its effects.

The honest answer for visitors: there is no legal way for a tourist to buy THC cannabis in Switzerland. The approved pilot projects in Zurich, Basel, Bern and other cities require residency in that municipality plus enrolment in the study. Medical cannabis requires a Swiss prescription.

What is legal and available right now: Swiss indoor cannabis below 1% THC, lab-tested, with the full terpene profile and cannabinoid values you can see before buying. The planned Cannabis Products Act (CanPG) could open access in the medium term, and existing members would be first in line. We promise neither a date nor a price.

Frequently asked questions about cannabis in Swiss resorts

Can tourists buy cannabis in a Swiss ski resort?
Legally only cannabis below 1% THC. There is usually no shop in the village — as a member you order online and have it delivered to your accommodation.
Does the post deliver to car-free villages like Zermatt?
Yes. Parcels arrive by train and are delivered normally from the village.
Do I need Swiss residency?
No. A valid ID for age verification and a Swiss delivery address are enough.
Can I take leftovers home?
No. Even legal Swiss CBD must not cross the border — neighbouring countries apply different rules.
How does altitude change the effects?
Altitude, cold, exertion and dehydration can intensify effects or make them unpleasant. Dose lower on your first day.
Is there THC cannabis for visitors?
No. Pilot projects require city residency and medical cannabis needs a Swiss prescription.

We sell only legal Swiss cannabis products containing less than 1% THC. They are freely available inside Switzerland but must not be taken across the border. THC cannabis is not available outside a medical prescription or approved pilot projects. This text is guidance, not legal advice. Last updated: August 2026.
