CBD Shipping Europe – legal, customs, process
The operational process when CBD ships from Switzerland into a European destination.
TL;DR
- Origin: Switzerland (non-EU) – customs procedure at destination.
- Analytics (CoA) accompanies every batch.
- THC limit varies by country – we ship compliant.
- Insured, tracked, discreet packaging.
Export from Switzerland
CBD wholesale ships via Swiss customs procedures when products meet destination-country rules. Every shipment is accompanied by an invoice, CoA and, if needed, an origin declaration.
Arrival in destination
Local THC limits and marketing regimes apply (Novel Food, cosmetics, industrial hemp). We only ship batches compliant with the destination.
Partner process
Order in the drop → shipping verification → export → destination customs (usually buyer) → delivery. Typical duration 3–7 business days into nearby EU.
Customs, documents and transit risk in practice
Every shipment from Switzerland into the EU is a customs declaration. You need at minimum: commercial invoice with exact goods description and tariff code, packing list, proof of origin and the recipient's EORI number. For hemp products, certificates of analysis are often added because customs wants THC content evidenced before releasing the goods. If one document is missing the shipment is not rejected — it is held, and demurrage costs more than any preparation.
The biggest operational risk is not customs itself but transit through third countries with stricter rules. A route crossing a zero-tolerance country can jeopardise an otherwise compliant shipment. For larger volumes we therefore agree the routing with the partner up front.
- Commercial invoice with tariff code and exact description
- Recipient EORI number mandatory
- Attach the batch certificate of analysis
- Clarify routing and transit countries for pallets
Packaging, temperature and shipment tracking
For European shipping: odour-proof, shock-resistant and unremarkable. Vacuum-sealed or nitrogen-flushed containers inside a sturdy outer carton reduce humidity swings and breakage. In summer transport heat is the bigger problem than cold — terpenes evaporate at moderately elevated temperatures, visible on arrival as dry, low-aroma goods.
Every shipment carries tracking and a documented handover. For partners that is not comfort but evidence: claiming against a carrier requires timestamps, a handover record and photo documentation at unpacking.
FAQ
Can shipments be stuck at customs?
Rare with complete paperwork. We align customs documents per destination.
Who pays customs?
Usually the buyer (DAP). Alternatives on request.
Is packaging discreet?
Yes, neutral, no visible CannabisClub branding.
Who carries the risk if customs seizes a shipment?
The importer is responsible for marketability in the destination country. We supply complete documentation and analytics but cannot guarantee a foreign authority's decision.
How long does European shipping take?
After drop release usually two to five business days, plus customs clearance. Pallets typically take one to two days longer than parcels.
Do you ship pallets or only parcels?
Both. Parcels suit samples and small batches, pallets suit larger volume — there we plan routing, transit countries and documents together with the partner, because customs standing time is the heaviest cost factor in European shipping.
