Choose your canton. The guides distinguish federal law, responsible authorities, authorised studies and assessing specific offers.

The basic classification of cannabis comes from federal law. Possession for personal use and actual consumption are different matters. A product below 1% total THC is not automatically permitted for every use.

The checked FOPH register assigns projects to eight cantons. Assignment establishes neither current operation, recruitment, sales points everywhere nor personal eligibility. Medical prescribing is a separate route.

German-speaking Switzerland — 19 cantons

The linked cantons share the federal framework. Study territories and admission criteria differ: Zurich includes several authorised projects; SCRIPT names Bern, Biel and Lucerne. A German-speaking region does not create shared, unrestricted THC access.

French-speaking Switzerland — 6 cantons

In French-speaking Switzerland, the precise project location matters: Cann-L concerns Lausanne, La Cannabinothèque Vernier. A page about Geneva establishes no sales point in Geneva city. Canton guides help distinguish responsibilities from routes of access.

Italian-speaking Switzerland — Ticino & Grisons

The Ticino and Grisons guides explain Swiss rules and assessing offers. The checked FOPH register assigns no project to either canton. This permits neither a prediction nor admission without checks to a study in another canton.

Border cantons — cross-border demand

Before travelling, check the destination and all transit countries’ rules for the specific product. Swiss thresholds or a CBD label do not automatically permit crossing a border.

Do THC thresholds change between cantons?

The basic classification by total THC follows federal law. Cantonal responsibilities create no additional permission for a product.

How should pilot projects be understood?

The FOPH register lists authorised studies. Their territories, criteria and current information must be checked with each project.

What does the 10-gram rule mean?

Possession of up to 10 grams for personal use is not punishable. Actual adult consumption may result in a CHF 100 fixed fine. Juvenile criminal law applies to minors.

Are canton pages current price lists?

No. They help assess specific offers and publish no verified cantonal price surveys.
