Cannabis FAQ Switzerland

The most-asked questions about Swiss cannabis clubs, pilot projects, legality, CBD, THC, membership and ordering — short, precise, current for 2026.

CBD cannabis (<1% THC) is fully legal in Switzerland. THC cannabis remains illegal but personal use up to 10 g is a fixed-penalty offence (100 CHF). Federal pilot projects in Zurich, Basel, Bern, Lausanne and other cities are testing regulated THC sales to adult residents. CannabisClub.ch is a nationwide Cannabis Social Club with a legal CBD range and is preparing for the regulated THC market.

Cannabis Social Clubs

What is a Cannabis Social Club?

A Cannabis Social Club is a closed, members-only association of adult consumers who source cannabis transparently and outside the black market. In Switzerland the model focuses on legal CBD cannabis and on preparing for the regulated THC market through the federal pilot projects.

Are cannabis clubs legal in Switzerland?

Yes, provided the club only deals in legal products (CBD <1% THC, hemp flowers, oils, edibles without THC) or is officially part of an authorised pilot project. Selling THC cannabis outside these pilots remains illegal.

What does CannabisClub.ch offer?

A nationwide platform for legal Swiss indoor cannabis (CBD, GMP tested), fair producer prices, neutral packaging, Swiss Post delivery in 1–2 working days, plus a referral and drop system. THC will be added as soon as regulated sales are permitted.

Who can join?

Adults (18+) resident in Switzerland. Sign-up is online with age verification. Tourists can browse the public CBD range but cannot order from members-only sections.

How much does membership cost?

Standard membership at CannabisClub.ch is free. Member prices, exclusive drops and referral commissions unlock immediately in the members area.

Pilot Projects (THC)

What is a cannabis pilot project?

Pilot projects are federally authorised (FOPH/BAG) scientific studies that test the regulated sale of THC cannabis to adult consumers in closed settings. They generate the evidence needed for future national cannabis regulation.

Which Swiss cities run pilot projects?

Active or approved pilots include Basel (Weed Care), Zurich (Züri Can), Bern, Lausanne, Geneva, Biel and Lucerne. Each project has its own admission criteria, capped participant numbers and product range.

Who can take part?

Adults resident in the pilot municipality with documented prior cannabis use and written consent to scientific monitoring. Pregnant people, certain medical conditions and non-consumers are excluded.

What is sold in the pilots?

Tested Swiss indoor cannabis (flower, some hash) with declared THC and CBD content, GMP standards and no pesticides. Monthly limits per participant, typically max 10 g THC per month.

When will Switzerland fully legalise cannabis?

No fixed date. After the pilot phase ends (from 2026/2027), a draft cannabis act is expected. A nationally regulated market is realistic from 2027–2028 at the earliest.

CBD in Switzerland

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound of the cannabis plant. It does not cause a high. In Switzerland it is sold as a stimulant and food supplement (oils) and as a tobacco substitute (flower).

Is CBD legal in Switzerland?

Yes. CBD products under 1% THC are legal. Different rules apply depending on form: tobacco tax for flower, food law for oils and edibles, medicinal product law for health claims.

Does CBD get you high?

No. CBD is non-psychoactive. It can feel calming and relaxing but does not produce the intoxication associated with THC.

What does 1 g of CBD flower cost in Switzerland?

Typical 2026 prices are CHF 6–12 per gram for top-tier indoor. Members at CannabisClub.ch get transparent drop prices direct from Swiss indoor producers without intermediaries.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

Pure CBD isolate usually does not. Full-spectrum products can contain trace THC and trigger roadside saliva tests. Avoid CBD before driving or sensitive tests.

THC & Consumption

What is THC?

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive compound of cannabis. It produces the typical effects (relaxation, euphoria, altered perception) and is illegal in Switzerland above 1% in the final product, outside of pilot projects and medical prescription.

Where am I allowed to consume cannabis?

In private spaces with the owner's consent. Public smoking bans apply in enclosed public spaces and railway stations. Consumption in view of minors and outside approved pilot venues is prohibited.

How quickly does cannabis work?

Smoking or vaping: effects within minutes, lasting 1–3 hours. Edibles: 30–120 minutes onset, lasting 6–8 hours. Dose edibles cautiously.

How long does THC stay in your system?

Blood: hours to a few days. Urine: 1–3 days for single use, up to weeks for heavy use. Hair: months. Roadside saliva tests typically detect 12–24 hours.

Is cannabis dangerous?

Cannabis carries lower physical harm potential than alcohol or tobacco but is not risk-free. Risks: psychological dependence, worsening of psychotic illness, cognitive impact in adolescents, respiratory load from smoking. Responsible use means: 25+, moderate amounts, never while driving.

Membership & Ordering

How do I become a member?

Sign up with email, confirm you are 18+, optionally add a referral code. Activation is usually instant; member prices and drops become visible right away.

How does the referral programme work?

Every member gets a personal referral code. You earn commission as credit or payout on every order from members you refer. Tiers and details live in the members area.
