CBD oil comparison Switzerland 2026
The price of a CBD oil tells you almost nothing until you convert it to the milligram of CBD. This comparison shows which oil types exist, what they realistically cost in Switzerland and how to recognise genuine quality.
At a glance
- Always calculate the price per milligram of CBD: price ÷ (percentage × 100) for 10 ml bottles. Below CHF 0.06/mg is cheap, above CHF 0.12/mg is expensive.
- Full spectrum contains up to 1% THC plus terpenes, broad spectrum is THC-free, isolate contains only CBD.
- Anyone subject to drug testing should choose broad spectrum or isolate — full spectrum can produce THC metabolites.
- A per-batch certificate of analysis with date, lab and cannabinoid profile is the single most important quality marker.
- Starting dose: 3–5 drops of a 5% oil twice daily, review after 5–7 days, then increase slowly.
The five oil types compared
Five configurations dominate the Swiss market. The difference lies less in the brand than in spectrum and concentration — both determine effect, taste and price per milligram.
How to calculate the real price
The only fair benchmark is the price per milligram of CBD. Worked example: a 10 ml oil at 10% contains 1000 mg of CBD. At CHF 70 per bottle that is CHF 0.07 per milligram.
A 20% oil at CHF 120 contains 2000 mg, so CHF 0.06 per milligram — cheaper despite the higher sticker price. At 30 mg per day, a 5% oil quickly costs twice as much per month as a 20% oil.
- Cheap — Below CHF 0.06 per mg of CBD — usually higher concentrations.
- Market rate — CHF 0.06–0.12 per mg for lab-tested Swiss product.
- Expensive — Above CHF 0.12 per mg — often low concentration or brand premium.
Full spectrum, broad spectrum or isolate?
Full spectrum contains CBG, CBN, terpenes and up to 1% THC alongside CBD. The often-cited entourage effect describes the interplay of these compounds; the evidence is plausible but not conclusive. The taste is strong and herbal.
Broad spectrum goes through an extra step that removes THC while keeping the other cannabinoids. Isolate is crystalline CBD in a carrier oil: neutral taste, precise dosing, no accompanying compounds.
Decision rule: professional drivers, security staff and anyone subject to testing should pick broad spectrum or isolate. Everyone else can start with full spectrum.
Reading a certificate of analysis in 60 seconds
A credible COA names the lab, the test date, the batch number and the method. Check four things: declared CBD content against measured content — deviations above 10% are a red flag; the THC value, which must stay below 1%; pesticide and heavy-metal screening; and the date, because a certificate older than the batch does not belong to the product.
If no batch-specific certificate exists at all, the price is irrelevant — there is no basis for any quality claim.
Dosing: start slowly
Start low, go slow is the proven approach. Begin with 3–5 drops of a 5% oil twice a day (roughly 8–12 mg CBD daily), hold that dose for 5–7 days, then assess sleep, tension and side effects.
Increase in steps of about 5 mg. Hold the drops under the tongue for 60–90 seconds; absorption is markedly better than swallowing immediately. If you take medication — especially blood thinners or antiepileptics — check with a doctor first, because CBD interacts through the cytochrome P450 system.
Frequently asked about CBD oil
- Which CBD oil is best for beginners?
- A 5% full-spectrum oil is the usual entry point: low dose per drop, a good balance of effect and control, and a moderate bottle price.
- Is CBD oil legal in Switzerland?
- Yes, as long as THC content stays below 1%. Depending on presentation the product is regulated as a raw material, cosmetic or food; therapeutic claims are not permitted.
- Can CBD oil trigger a drug test?
- Full-spectrum oils can make THC metabolites detectable in urine with regular, higher dosing. Anyone who gets tested should choose broad spectrum or isolate.
- How much does CBD oil cost in Switzerland?
- Typically CHF 35–55 for 5%, CHF 55–90 for 10% and CHF 95–160 for 20% per 10 ml bottle. What matters is the price per milligram of CBD.
- How long does CBD oil take to work?
- Taken sublingually, usually 15–45 minutes. For sleep or chronic tension the effect often only becomes assessable after one to two weeks of regular use.
We sell only legal Swiss CBD products containing less than 1% THC. THC cannabis is available in Switzerland exclusively through a medical prescription or an approved pilot project. Prices shown come from our own price index and are not third-party offers. Last updated August 2026.
